Call for Papers: Special Issue ‘Geology and palaeontology of the James Ross Basin, Antarctic Peninsula’

2018-05-28 10:20:11

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to submit manuscripts to the thematic issue of the journal Advances in Polar Science (APS) on “Geology and palaeontology of the James Ross Basin, Antarctic Peninsula”. This is a call for original articles in earth and life sciences focusing on different themes, including stratigraphy, palaeoclimate, palaeoenvironments, palaeobiology, palaeoecology, palaeogeography, evolution, and systematics within the James Ross Basin region.

APS is an international, peer-reviewed and open-access journal sponsored by the Polar Research Institute of China (PRIC). It is a quarterly journal published in March, June, September, and December, and circulated internationally (ISSN 1674-9928, CN 31-2050/P). Articles published in APS are free of charge with generous funding from PRIC. This special issue on geology and palaeontology of Antarctica will be released as a general issue of APS (Volume 30, Issue 2) in June of 2019.

The main purpose of this volume is to summarize some of the recent exciting advances in our knowledge of this key area for Antarctic geology and palaeobiology; reviews, updates, and regional studies are particularly welcome. If you are interested in this proposal, please send us a tentative title and the name of all possible co-authors. The submitted manuscripts will be subject to a full peer-review process (through the editorial office and the ScholarOne Manuscripts online system , https://mc03.manuscriptcentral.com/apsci ). The guidelines for the format of papers can be found at: http://www.aps-polar.org/authors/instructions

As this will be a scheduled thematic issue of APS there will be strict adherence to the following deadlines.

Ø  15 July 2018 - deadline for submitting titles of possible contributions (please send it directly to any of the three editors – addresses below).

Ø  30 November 2018 - deadline for submitting a manuscript for this issue.

Ø  15 March 2019 - deadline for submission of the final accepted paper.

Ø  June 2019 - publication date.
